Betahistine Hydrochloride is a vasodilator and histamine analog primarily used to treat vertigo and balance disorders. It works by improving blood flow in the inner ear, helping reduce symptoms like dizziness and tinnitus.
Each tablet contains:
Betahistine Hydrochloride 8 mg
Treatment of Mni¨res disease (characterized by vertigo, tinnitus, and hearing loss)
Vertigo of vestibular origin
Other balance disorders with dizziness
Adults:
Typical dose: 8 mg three times daily (24 mg/day total)
Dose can be adjusted based on clinical response (up to 48 mg/day in divided doses)
Children:
Safety and efficacy not well established; use with caution
Known hypersensitivity to betahistine
Pheochromocytoma (due to risk of hypertensive crisis)
Pregnancy and lactation (use only if clearly needed and under medical supervision)
Use caution in patients with peptic ulcers or asthma
Monitor for allergic reactions
May interact with antihistamines (which can reduce effectiveness)
