About Montelukast Sodium & Fexofenadine Hydrochloride Tablets

A dual-action antiallergic combination that includes:

• Montelukast Sodium a leukotriene receptor antagonist that helps reduce inflammation and bronchoconstriction in allergic responses.

• Fexofenadine Hydrochloride a non-sedating antihistamine that blocks histamine (H1) receptors, relieving allergic symptoms like sneezing, runny nose, and itchy eyes.

This combination is ideal for managing seasonal allergic rhinitis and allergic asthma with both nasal and respiratory symptoms.

Typical Composition (per tablet):

Formulations with Montelukast 10 mg + Fexofenadine 120 mg are common for rhinitis, while 180 mg is used for chronic urticaria.

Uses / Indications:

• Allergic rhinitis (seasonal or perennial)

• Chronic urticaria (hives)

• Allergic conjunctivitis

• Asthma with allergic triggers

• Sneezing, nasal congestion, itching, watery eyes

Dosage & Administration:

Swallow whole with water.
Can be taken with or without food.
Evening dosing helps control night-time and early morning symptoms.

Precautions:

• Avoid use in:

  • Severe hepatic impairment

  • Children under 12 years (unless pediatric dosage prescribed)

• Caution in patients with:

  • Phenylketonuria (check excipients)
