About Nimesulide & Paracetamol Tablets

A non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) combination used for rapid relief from pain, inflammation, and fever. It includes:

• Nimesulide a selective COX-2 inhibitor with anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects

• Paracetamol (Acetaminophen) a widely used antipyretic and mild analgesic

Together, they provide synergistic action for acute pain relief and fever control.

Typical Composition (per tablet):

Formulations may vary slightly by brand. Some brands use Paracetamol 500mg for stronger antipyretic effect.

Uses / Indications:

• Fever associated with inflammation

• Headache, toothache, earache

• Musculoskeletal pain, sprains, and strains

• Backache, joint pain, arthritic pain

• Post-operative or post-traumatic pain

• Dysmenorrhea (painful menstruation)

Not recommended for long-term use or chronic pain conditions due to hepatotoxicity risk.

Dosage & Administration:

Take with food or milk to reduce gastric side effects
Minimum 8-hour interval between doses

Precautions:

• Avoid alcohol increases risk of liver toxicity

• Not recommended in:

  • Liver disease

  • Peptic ulcer or GI bleeding

  • Kidney impairment

  • Pregnancy (especially 3rd trimester) and breastfeeding

• Monitor liver enzymes during prolonged use

• Not for use in viral infections in children (Nimesulide is banned for pediatric use in several countries)

Possible Side Effects:

Stop immediately and consult a doctor if yellowing of skin/eyes, severe abdominal pain, or rash occurs.
