About Rabeprazole Gastro Resistant & Itopride Prolonged Release Capsules IP

A combination therapy used to treat acid reflux, GERD, and functional dyspepsia. It combines:

• Rabeprazole a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) that reduces stomach acid production

• Itopride a prokinetic agent that improves gastric motility and accelerates stomach emptying

Together, they offer symptom relief in acid-related and motility-related gastrointestinal disorders.

Typical Composition (per capsule):

Formulation may be labeled as Rabeprazole EC + Itopride SR Capsules

Uses / Indications:

• Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD)

• Non-ulcer dyspepsia (functional dyspepsia)

• Heartburn, bloating, early satiety

• Peptic ulcer disease

• Gastroparesis (delayed gastric emptying)

• Post-meal nausea or fullness

Dosage & Administration:

For best results, take 3060 minutes before food

Precautions:

Use with caution in:

• Liver dysfunction

• Electrolyte imbalances (may increase QT risk with Itopride)

• Gastric malignancy rule out before starting long-term acid suppression

• Elderly due to altered drug metabolism

Long-term PPI use may reduce calcium, magnesium, B12 levels

Possible Side Effects:

Drug Interactions:

• Antacids: Avoid taking togethermay affect Rabeprazole release

• Warfarin, Digoxin, Phenytoin use cautiously

• Ketoconazole, itraconazole absorption reduced by Rabeprazole

• Levodopa, dopaminergic drugs antagonized by Itopride
