Cefixime is used to treat bacterial infections such as:

🕠Dosage & Administration

• Adults & children >12 years: Usually 200“400 mg per day, either once daily or in two divided doses

• Children 6 months to 12 years: Dose based on body weight (usually 8 mg/kg/day)

• Take after food for better absorption and reduced stomach upset

How to take dispersible tablets:

1. Dissolve 1 tablet in a small amount of water

2. Stir well

3. Drink immediately

Common:

• Nausea

• Diarrhea

• Indigestion

• Headache

Serious (rare):

• Allergic reactions (rash, swelling, breathing difficulty)

• Severe diarrhea (possibly due to Clostridium difficile infection)
