Cefixime is a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic used to treat a wide range of bacterial infections. The dispersible tablet form is designed to be dissolved in water, making it easier to swallow, especially for children or those who have difficulty swallowing tablets.
These tablets can be dissolved in a small amount of water (around 1015 mL) before taking.
Can also be chewed or swallowed whole, if preferred.

Cefixime is used to treat bacterial infections such as:
Respiratory tract infections (e.g., pharyngitis, tonsillitis, bronchitis)
Urinary tract infections (UTIs)
Ear infections (otitis media)
Sinusitis
Typhoid fever
Skin and soft tissue infections
Some sexually transmitted infections (e.g., gonorrhea)
Adults & children >12 years: Usually 200400 mg per day, either once daily or in two divided doses
Children 6 months to 12 years: Dose based on body weight (usually 8 mg/kg/day)
Take after food for better absorption and reduced stomach upset
How to take dispersible tablets:
Dissolve 1 tablet in a small amount of water
Stir well
Drink immediately
Common:
Nausea
Diarrhea
Abdominal pain
Indigestion
Headache
Serious (rare):
Allergic reactions (rash, swelling, breathing difficulty)
Severe diarrhea (possibly due to Clostridium difficile infection)
Liver enzyme elevation
Inform your doctor if you:
Are allergic to penicillins or cephalosporins
Have a history of kidney disease
Have gastrointestinal issues, especially colitis
Not effective for viral infections like the common cold or flu.
