Rabeprazole is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) used to reduce stomach acid production. The gastro-resistant (enteric-coated) formulation ensures the tablet bypasses the stomach and dissolves in the intestine, preventing degradation by gastric acid.

Use during pregnancy and breastfeeding only if clearly needed
