About Levocetirizine & Montelukast Tablets IP

A dual-action antiallergic combination used for the management of respiratory and nasal allergies. It combines:

• Levocetirizine a third-generation non-sedating antihistamine that blocks histamine (H1) receptors to relieve allergic symptoms like sneezing, runny nose, and itching.

• Montelukast a leukotriene receptor antagonist that reduces inflammation and bronchoconstriction caused by allergens.

Typical Composition (per tablet):

Uses / Indications:

• Allergic rhinitis (seasonal & perennial)

• Chronic urticaria (hives)

• Asthma associated with allergic symptoms

• Sneezing, nasal congestion, watery eyes

• Atopic conditions and other allergy-related inflammation

Dosage & Administration:

Take with or without food.
Evening dosing helps control night-time and early morning symptoms.

Precautions:

• Use with caution in:

  • Patients with renal impairment (adjust Levocetirizine dose)

  • History of psychiatric disorders (Montelukast-related mood changes)

• Not recommended for:

  • Children under 6 years (unless pediatric dose prescribed)

  • Patients allergic to antihistamines or leukotriene inhibitors
