Itraconazole is a broad-spectrum triazole antifungal medication used to treat a wide range of fungal infections. It works by inhibiting the synthesis of ergosterol, a vital component of fungal cell membranes, effectively killing or stopping the growth of fungi.

Common:

  • Nausea, vomiting, or stomach pain

Serious (rare):

  • Liver toxicity (yellowing of skin/eyes, dark urine)

  • Congestive heart failure (shortness of breath, swelling)
