About Dicyclomine Hydrochloride And Mefenamic Acid Tablets IP

A combination tablet containing:

• Dicyclomine Hydrochloride: An antispasmodic agent that relaxes smooth muscles in the gastrointestinal tract, relieving cramps and spasms.

• Mefenamic Acid: A nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used to reduce pain and inflammation.

This combination is commonly used to relieve abdominal pain and cramping associated with gastrointestinal disorders.

Typical Composition (per tablet):

Uses / Indications:

• Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)

• Gastrointestinal spasms and cramps

• Dysmenorrhea (painful menstrual cramps)

• Abdominal pain with muscle spasm

• Other conditions requiring relief from smooth muscle spasms and associated pain

Dosage & Administration:

• Usual dose: 1 tablet 3 times daily after meals or as prescribed by the physician

• Swallow whole with water

• Do not exceed the prescribed dose to avoid side effects

Precautions:

• Use with caution in patients with glaucoma, urinary retention, or obstructive gastrointestinal diseases

• Avoid in patients with peptic ulcers or bleeding disorders (due to mefenamic acid)

• Not recommended during pregnancy and lactation unless specifically prescribed

• Avoid alcohol as it may increase side effects

• Inform your doctor if you have liver, kidney, or heart problems
