This is a combination antibiotic used to treat moderate to severe bacterial infections, especially those caused by resistant strains. It combines:
Cefpodoxime Proxetil 200 mg: A 3rd-generation cephalosporin antibiotic
Clavulanic Acid (Clavulanate Potassium) 125 mg: A beta-lactamase inhibitor that protects the antibiotic from being destroyed by bacteria
This medicine is prescribed for infections like:
Respiratory tract infections (e.g. pneumonia, bronchitis, sinusitis)
Urinary tract infections (UTIs)
Skin and soft tissue infections
ENT infections (e.g. tonsillitis, otitis media)
Typhoid fever
Gynecological and abdominal infections
Typical dose (adults): 1 tablet twice daily (every 12 hours)
With food: Taking it after food improves absorption and reduces stomach upset

Common:
Diarrhea
Nausea or vomiting
Abdominal pain
Skin rash
Headache
Serious (rare):
Severe allergic reaction (swelling, breathing difficulty)
Liver enzyme elevation
Severe diarrhea (may indicate C. difficile infection)
Tell your doctor if you:
Are allergic to penicillins or cephalosporins
Have kidney or liver disease
Are pregnant or breastfeeding (use only if clearly needed)
Drug Interactions:
Antacids may reduce absorption
