Cefixime Suspension is a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic used to treat a variety of bacterial infections in children. It is effective against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria.

Strength: 50 mg / 5 ml after reconstitution
Form: Dry powder for oral suspension
Pack Size: Commonly 30 ml / 50 ml bottles (after reconstitution)

Prescribed for bacterial infections such as:
Upper respiratory tract infections (pharyngitis, tonsillitis)
Lower respiratory tract infections (bronchitis)
Urinary tract infections (UTIs)

Dosage is typically 810 mg/kg/day, divided into two doses
Shake well before each use
Give after food to reduce stomach upset
Complete the full course even if symptoms improve early
Tap the bottle gently to loosen powder
Add boiled and cooled water up to the mark on the label
Shake vigorously to make a uniform suspension
Store in a refrigerator (28C) after mixing
Use within 710 days of reconstitution
Common (mild):
Diarrhea
Nausea or vomiting
Stomach pain
Skin rash
Rare but serious:
Allergic reactions (rash, swelling, breathing difficulty)
Severe diarrhea (sign of Clostridium difficile infection)
Avoid in children with known cephalosporin or penicillin allergy
Use with caution in kidney disease
Not effective for viral infections (e.g., colds, flu)
Do not exceed prescribed dose or duration
Before reconstitution: Store in a cool, dry place
After reconstitution: Store in refrigerator and use within 710 days
Do not freeze
