This combination tablet is a broad-spectrum antibiotic used for treating moderate to severe bacterial infections, especially those resistant to standard antibiotics. It includes:
Cefuroxime Axetil 500 mg: A second-generation cephalosporin antibiotic
Potassium Clavulanate 125 mg: A beta-lactamase inhibitor that protects cefuroxime from bacterial resistance
Prescribed for:
Upper & lower respiratory tract infections (e.g., sinusitis, bronchitis, pneumonia)
Ear infections (otitis media)
Throat infections (pharyngitis, tonsillitis)
Urinary tract infections (UTIs)
Skin and soft tissue infections
Bone and joint infections
Typical adult dose: 1 tablet twice daily
