About Pantoprazole Gastro Resistant & Domperidone Prolonged Release Capsules IP

This is a dual-action gastrointestinal therapy combining:

• Pantoprazole a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) that reduces excess stomach acid

• Domperidone a prokinetic agent that enhances gastric motility and prevents nausea

It is used primarily to treat acid reflux, GERD, functional dyspepsia, and associated nausea or bloating.

Typical Composition (per capsule):

Also available in Pantoprazole 20 mg + Domperidone 30 mg SR formulations

Uses / Indications:

• Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD)

• Functional dyspepsia

• Heartburn and acid peptic disorders

• Nausea and bloating due to gastric stasis

• Peptic ulcers

• Prevention of NSAID-induced gastritis

Dosage & Administration:

For best efficacy, take 3060 minutes before meals

Precautions:

• Not recommended for long-term use without medical supervision

• Caution in elderly patients and those with:

  • QT prolongation or cardiac arrhythmia risk

  • Hepatic or renal impairment

• Monitor magnesium, calcium, B12 levels in long-term PPI use

• Rule out gastric malignancy before long-term acid suppression

Possible Side Effects:

Drug Interactions:

• Ketoconazole, itraconazole absorption reduced due to acid suppression

• Warfarin, phenytoin, digoxin may require monitoring

• Levodopa Domperidone may antagonize its effects

• Avoid co-use with macrolides, azole antifungals, or antipsychotics (risk of QT prolongation)
