Terbinafine is a systemic antifungal medication used to treat fungal infections of the skin, nails, and scalp. It belongs to the allylamine class of antifungals and works by stopping the growth of fungi.

Terbinafine Tablets are prescribed for:
Onychomycosis (fungal nail infection)
Tinea corporis (ringworm of the body)
Tinea cruris (jock itch)
Tinea pedis (athlete's foot)
Tinea capitis (scalp ringworm)
Other dermatophyte or yeast infections resistant to topical treatment
Adults (standard): 250 mg once daily
Duration depends on infection type:
Skin infections: 26 weeks
Fingernail infections: 6 weeks
Toenail infections: 12 weeks or more
ð Take after food to reduce gastrointestinal upset. Swallow whole with water.
Common:
Headache
Diarrhea
Nausea or stomach pain
Taste disturbances (may take weeks to return to normal)
Skin rash
Rare but serious:
Liver toxicity (jaundice, dark urine, fatigue report immediately)
Severe skin reactions (e.g., Stevens-Johnson syndrome)
Blood abnormalities (rare)
Liver disease: Use with caution; liver function tests may be required before and during treatment.
Kidney impairment
Pregnancy & breastfeeding: Use only if clearly needed and prescribed
Drug interactions: Inform your doctor if taking antidepressants, beta blockers, blood thinners, etc.
